Milk Bread

Over the past month my cooking new recipes seems to have come to a halt. Trying to sell our house and keep it as clean as possible has left little time for creativity in the kitchen. I have however, been making a lot of bread in my bread machine. I made milk bread the other night to go with a pasta dish. Yummy! It was an easy recipe and I had all of the ingredients on hand, which is why I decided to make it! This is definitely one of my favorite homemade bread recipes!

My brother-in-law Ian got me my bread machine for Christmas and he also got me "The Bread Lover's Bread Machine Cookbook", which I LOVE!! So far I have made 5 recipes from that cookbook and they have all been wonderful! Jordan is ready for me to stop making white bread recipes and try something like sourdough or pumpernickel. Maybe they can be next on my list. :)

1 1/8 cup whole milk
1 Tablespoon butter
3 cups bread flour
1 Tablespoon sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast
This recipe also called for 1 Tablespoon Gluten but I omitted that)

Place all the ingredients in the pan according to the order in the manufacturer's instructions. Set crust on medium or dark, and program for the Basic cycle; press Start.

When the baking cycle ends, immediately remove the bread from the pan and place it on a rack. Let cool to room temperature before slicing. (Which I never do, I like it served still warm!)

Nice to see you are carrying on the Duggan tradition of bread baking! Anna baked a lot of bread and pies, cakes, etc. for her church bazaars. She used to bring us two loaves when she came to visit. I used to make bread too - sourdough and french bread loaves.
